Ian’s Writing Spot: Floride

Although fluoride is good for you in moderation, in some cases , if used to a certain degree the bacteria prevention starts to stain your teeth. They say that if there is more than 1ppm of fluoride in drinking water it will stain your teeth. Water fluoridation is best used for small to medium size systems where it is easier to control. It is much harder to control the levels in a large system and this is what worries some people. Now somepeople have different reasons why they would prefer it if adding fluoride to water. Personally I see nothing wrong with adding fluorine to water. With advances in the fluoride industry I see it as a great investment. Also on a good note, I cant taste it, so I’m not going to be deterred from it in any way. Overall if i don’t have it in water I still Brush my teeth so its all good.  I think that drinking it is not the same as swallowing toooth paste because there is more to toothpaste than just sodium fluoride. But may it also be noted that you shouldn’t swallow toothpaste because of the flouride count in it. So some advicates say that one little dab of tooth paste is equal to the amount of fluoride in a glass of water.

Also I do not see anything wrong with it because there have been some advances in technology. The ion in the fluoride is the main reason why fluoride is aable to be manipulated so many different ways, because as long as its available in the solution it will get the job done. Well now there are new advances in fluorine so that its not just sodium fluoride but can also be stannous fluoride, and sodium monofluorophosphate it is a different type of ion that uses other types of chemicals, all of these are derived from hydrofluoric acid, which in turn is made by reacting sulfuric acid with fluorspar, a calcium fluoride-rich ore.The purpose is, so that bacteria will not build on your teeth and the tooth enamel will rebuild. So far the advances in Fluorine have been for the best.

I have heard about possible skeletal fluorosis were the fluoride will cause more damage than its fixing. If there were any major side effects affecting a highly populated area I believe I would have heard about it by now. I have never heard of anyone in my community complain about fluoride in water so I have no concerns for it. If they should decide to put it in the water I think it would be best if they tried it out for a couple of weeks and if it doesn’t work they should go back in fix it, on the other hand if it works out fine, I say go for it! Yet others say don’t go for it and heres a better explanation why.
